AI-POWERED OPEN DATA TECHnology

MethaneScan® AI automated remote sensing platform resides on Google Cloud (GCP). It employs innovative proprietary image analysis techniques which improve the native spatial resolution of satellite sensors from 5x7 km to up to 1x1 km. Fully automated AI-powered zoom of medium to large plumes at 30 m resolution worldwide is now in field test, funded by a National Science Foundation Technology Innovation Grant (SBIR). Bespoke applications of the new 30 m technology are currently available on a project basis. Accurate methane plume detection, quantification and attribution are the overall goals. Curated Asset-LEVEL DATA

MethaneScan® AI uses a variety of open data medium- and high-resolution satellite-based sensors (Sentinel, Landsat and other public sources), together with GEO’s proprietary asset-level data platform, to attribute methane plumes to asset owners. GEO compiles, maintains and curates asset-ownership and corporate actions databases. We also engage with producers to update and sync ownership data whenever possible.
